Singam - Roaring in same old forest

The film opens with the face of a lion - which is what Singam means in Tamil and then grandly announces this to be its lead actor, Surya's 25th film. It's evident then that Singam will be another grand showcase vehicle for its talented lead actor and the film turns out to be just that. Once actors down South acquire a kind of mass fan following, a lot of their films are only interested in coming up with a plot-line that will do best to project the star's heroism and virtues. It happens with all Rajnikanth starrers, where a script is entirely dispensable against his towering image and charisma.

From the past few films, Surya seems to be consciously aiming to shed some of his 'thinking actor' image and turning towards massy entertainers. The actor who impressed critics and class audiences alike with his films like Ghajini, Varanam Aayiram, Silluna oru Kadhal and Ayutha Ezhuthu has been doing hard-core commercial fares like Ayan, Aru and now, Sigham. It's certainly helped him garner tremendous clout at the boxoffice, but one hopes he can balance it with more meaningful films.

The enmity between the two principal characters which started in Nallur travels to Chennai and ends in a bloody climax in Nellore. The film is racy at 2 hours and 35 minutes, and packaged as a mass masala entertainer.

Needless to say seeing the valor and courage of Dorai Singam, Kavya (Anushka), a girl from Chennai and daughter of industrialist Mahalingam (Nasser) falls head over heels in love with him.

Every scene and even dialogues and reactions from the supporting cast are predictable. Hari is obsessed showing a happy joint family in the first half, romance as usual is city girl falling for macho rural guy, even the song placements are exactly the same as his earlier films.

Of the performers Prakash Raj is becoming a ham villain, he needs urgently to reinvent himself and add more bite and character to his villain roles. Anushka is there only for glamour and songs, but does a decent job. Hari’s regular supporting cast including his father-in-law Vijayakumar is adequate.

Ultimately it is Surya who carries the film to the winning post. His passion and the way he brings an ordinary regular larger-than-life hero character alive on screen is lesson for other commercial heroes. On the whole, it is a predictable entertainer that follows the age old formula, which might appeal to viewers who finds comfort in mass masala entertainers. Watch it only for Surya. He is in top form.

Overall,'Singam' is the king of the masses, for those who love action and commercial films.

For you stupid people

Soon as I start to play a song on my laptop. I should be able to feel the tone itself. rather than imagining of a song. If I want to express how I feel, how I am today.then continue to the tone or the chord that speak of my mind, matching and matching, feels better.

I should be able to feel the tone, if I’m not feeling well it means I’m in the bad condition today.

Music worth, and musical instrument worth, I’m not worth that much , so it’s always stupids making me work on a blog entry and not letting me spending time of my own.I’m da stupid one. Thank you for letting me know, Thank you for your teaching, it’s lovely. So what’s their gentle non-sense words saying there is something wrong with people who following the core ? Simply to make me stupid.

Still playing a trick on me, delivering hands and etc.. still decorating non sense like the beauty of truths. what’s the reason that I should be able to accept your non-sense comments when I’m not including you in my life ? I ain’t your daddy, You ain’t my mother.

I don’t and I shouldn’t really care about others, because I know they are busy to find their happiness by finding the core element for and of their lives. I suppose someone who visits this blog might having a trouble with their activity, maybe they only found some interests of reading to make fun of my life troubles. I never caused troubles that have been blamed on me. Why you kicking me ?

So I should crawl from the gutter ? Kill you...these stupids are hunting me every seconds to make me down. they don’t like me living in the honesty and growing any love bigger for my life.

If you found the gutter makes a life, you should crawl from the gutter. I don’t think the gutter make a life. That is why you always letting me and you stepping on the society but placing you and me at the bottom everyday. when they don’t worth like what they own.

That doesn’t bother me. if the non sense built this world, it means that I have born as a hole.

I know what money printing machines of the national bank has been worked as. so tell the non sense. bother someone who is fine and living with the real optimism of their lives. I know you built your own tragedy and now you want someone, anyone instead of your death that everyone wish. so you need to tell the non sense, that is why I made a mistake of speaking with everyone .What you really need is the new lie book.. Is it for you or is it for myself and others ?

Just like I told you of this when you were telling me that I don’t know the world.

What do I want....?

Life is going alright here. Been really busy lately, with a lot of late nighters working on work-related things. Me, as a "yes" guy decided to help out and suddenly I had just too much work to do. But it was done and not it's with the network.but I guess I've been so tired lately that my feelings are simply numb. And, hey, I'm not complaining.

It all goes back to my inability to assert things to people in a way that they will accept and act on it.If i continue this, i am getting that 'Hari is Harsh/Rude' Tag. I trust people too much and I don't trust myself enough(now am thinking to change it other way). So, when multiple people ask for something, even when I know it shouldn't work, I decide to go ahead with it and get to the same conclusion the practical way.

It's very interesting how often you have to amaze yourself with how some things around you never change. You can't then convince yourself that actually what doesn't change is you. A person grows older, but it's still the same person with the same crazy ideas about the world.

Yes, that's sometimes good, because that means you get all your life to apply your crazy ideas (and not just short spans of craziness that most probably won't change a thing). But that's sometimes bad when it keeps reminding you that you are something else.

Where to go? Why to go?
My shoe laces are untied
If I move I'll fall
Or can I just tie them?
Why change? Let it be, it's better

Silence around me
Where am I?
What do I want?

Cheers,
Sudhan.

Horsley Hills Ride

Its just another awesome ride to Horsley Hills. We were decided to take a break away from this hectic office works.

I started at 6:15 on Friday morning from Spic building Chennai (Guindy road) to ride some 280kms with Devinder,Sathish and Sharan to spend weekend at Horsley Hills.

We stopped for breakfast at A1 Plaza near Sriperumbudur tollgate, better than most I have seen on this highway. The ride with far more discipline, we rode in a staggered formation, maintaining constant pace for long stretches.

To reach Horsley Hills from Chennai, one needs to take a right off just after Palamner (196kms) and head to Madanpalli (+53kms) to Horsley Hills (+30kms). The hill itself comes from like nowhere and a short ride with 3-4 hairpin bends take you to the top.

We were a  group of Pulsar 220, Pulsar 150 and Apache RTR 180.Myself and Devinder started and went ahead of Sathi/Saran. They had to pit stop a no. of times. By the time, Me and Devinder waited at Madanapalle more than 40 Mins.(But Devinder was saying "Where are these guys man..?We are waiting always for them "). After traveling some 280kms,We were to stay at Harita Resorts on Horsley Hills.

I loved the place . Harita is the only resort on top of hill around the region. It’s not much of a hill station, but the resort makes up for the lack. There is a decent pool, play grounds, good party area and well stocked bar. There are enough cottages to accommodate last minute travel plans. There is nothing much to do there, but if that is your idea of a holiday, its just 280 kms from Chennai!

About Horsley Hills:

A small hill station in Andhra Pradesh. If you search on the web you would get this. But when you ride there are no sign boards except when you reach the bottom of the hill before ride up a board "Welcome to Horsley Hills". That there are no sign boards put up shows where we lack in tourism promotion.

The roads in the route is not great by any change. There are pot-holes everywhere and you need to be careful. This is where group riding helps. The guy in the front always points to where the pot-holes are that the guys behind can avoid it.
Forget the pot-holes, long route, the ride was just great with a perfect weather.
It was cloudy slight sunshine at times but never a drop of rain. We had lot of pit stops, for breakfast, for pillion rider (its none other than Saran, who always want to stop the bike for Smoke or Tea) to cool their legs and general breaks. There was also not much traffic on the roads, not that it was Friday but the time we were riding in the morning, most trucks would be stopping for their quota of breakfast.

We never sped too much or went slow to spoil the mood. On most occasions, we were doing at around 80km/hr the perfect speed for a group ride. I would say that its a nice place to visit for a weekend, though there are not much one can go around for sight-seeing(except for us, NIFT fashion technology girls was there ). And definitely, you would notice the weather change to cool in the evening.

Cheers,
Sudhan.
